Questions
register for campouts
Registering happens in two parts, both through the Ecke YMCA site. You do the annual registration once for the season, then sign up for each campout as it comes.
Annual registration
do this once- Go to ymcasd.org/eckeadventure.
- Find Ahwahnee in the club list and click JOIN.
- Complete the Adult Annual Registration for yourself.
- Complete the Child Annual Registration for your kid.
Register for each campout
every trip- Use the Register link on the Campouts page, or click EVENTS under Ahwahnee at ymcasd.org/eckeadventure.
- Register yourself (Adult) for that campout.
- Register your child (Child) for that campout.
Stuck or have a registration issue? Email the club director, Tim Stong. The Y is for everyone: financial assistance is available, just ask.
join the club for the first time
Start with the annual registration above. That enrolls you in the Ahwahnee Club and places your family with a tribe. New families are welcome to join any time during the season, not just at the start.
Once you have registered, email the director to get placed, or try Find your tribe to see which chief to talk to. The first campout is the best way to meet the club in person.
know what to pack
For primitive tent campouts you will want the basics: tent, ground cloth, sleeping bags, sleeping pads, camp chairs, and a lantern. Meals are usually coordinated within your tribe, so check with your chief before each trip.
Each campout page has a Know before you go list with what that campground needs. The Y also publishes a full packing list for new families; ask your tribe chief or Tim Stong for the current copy.
reach my tribe or chief
Each family belongs to one of six tribes, each led by a chief. You can see every tribe and its current chief on the Tribes page. If you are not sure which tribe you are in yet, Tim Stong can help place you.
cancel a campout
Cancellations must be approved by an Adventure Clubs coordinator, so give as much notice as you can. In general:
- Before the program start date: 100% voucher or refund, less deposit and any uniform or vendor fees.
- On or after the start date: 75% voucher or refund, less those same fees.
- On or after the second day: no refund.
